South Korean Coal Imports Boosted by Russian Cargoes
South Korean coal imports edged 0.1 Mt higher year-on-year to 13.2 Mt in August as shipments of both coking and steam coal (incl. anthracite) increased, according to IHS. This included the strongest month for imports of Russian coal in over 17 years at 3.1 Mt. Imports of coal from all sources in January-August were up slightly on the same period last year at 98.7 Mt.
