Harbour Towage Competitive harbour towage has existed in certain US ports for almost 60 years. SSY's own connections with this industry date back to the mid 1940s. During the last two decades, competition within this industry has continued to grow. Towage in most of the major US East Coast and Gulf ports, as well as in some US West Coast ports, is now competitive.
