Dry Cargo Chartering

One of the largest teams in the industry. Specialists cover the voyage, contract and period chartering of Handy, Handymax, Panamax or Capesize vessels with expertise in Iron Ore, Coal, Grain and most minor bulks. A projects team also acts as transportation consultants for several major developers and power projects worldwide.

Tanker Chartering

Another major force within the industry principally covering the voyage and period chartering of tankers used for the carriage of crude oil and petroleum products internationally. Vessels from handysized product carriers through to very large crude carriers are handled daily on behalf of most major shipowners and cargo interests.

Liquefied Gas

Formed in April 2004 the Liquefied Gas department emplys four full-time brokers, who are all based in SSY's London office. The departments work on behalf of clients includes LNG and LPG projects, spot, medium-term and long-term chartering. The department is also active in newbuilding and second hand ship sale and purchase involving liquefied gas carrier tonnage.

Sale & Purchase

A recognised industry leader providing a full range of services from newbuilding contracting and secondhand sales through to demolition. All vessel types are handled for every category of industry participant. Expertise also includes advice on finance, investment and vessel valuation.

Freight Futures

Key players in introducing advanced market mechanisms for hedging freight rate risks either from the perspective of cost or earnings. This activity is regulated by the Financial Services Authority and is usually settled against accepted industry indicators produced through the Baltic Exchange. Clients include major charterers, owners and financial institutions with both the dry cargo and tanker markets.
