SSY is one of the few shipbroking companies to have pioneered FFAs (Forward Freight Agreements) for both the dry cargo and tanker markets.

Supplementing the physical chartering desks at SSY, the FFA team offers a paper alternative for hedging freight costs or earnings.

The FFA team works directly with leading charterers, owners, traders and financial institutions and has been influential in attracting new players to the market and raising market liquidity.

SSY's FFA brokers are members of the FFA Brokers Association and are FSA regulated.
