 AUSTRALIA’S AUGUST IRON ORE EXPORTS HIT A NEW RECORD |

Australian iron ore exports rose by 19% year-on-year to 33.2 Mt in August, hitting an all-time high. This takes year-to-date exports to 233.6 Mt, up by 11% year-on-year. Exports to Japan (6.8 Mt), South Korea (3.1 Mt) and Taiwan (1 Mt) in August hit year-to-date highs. Exports to China accounted for 67% of total Australian iron ore trade, down by 7% from July to 22.4 Mt, compared with the previous high of 25.3 Mt set in May. |
